Unlike all these gushy reviews, I found the series very upsetting and the ending unjustifiable.I haven't read the book, nor seen the earlier version. Having gone through all the ups and downs with this couple close up for so many episodes, I couldn't see the point of destroying Emma other than to make some kind of cheap, cynical statement. What was the point? I would also like to have seen more of Emma's side of the story..her background, family , etc. In spite of all that, the acting was excellent.
