If you want to study the Civil War, you need to read Shelby’s three volume narrative. He tells the “story of the Civil War” and you”ll enjoy his literary style. Lots of historical content, but unlike an historian’s style of writing, Shelby describes the war’s events thru the eyes of an historical novelist. Enjoy, I sure did!
