Excellent insights into the struggles Franklin had trying to draw France as an ally with the fledgling United States. The opening scene in Part 4, which shows Franklin being publicly reprimanded before His Majesty's Privy Council, appears to be an accurate portrayal of this critical event.

If you want to study the Civil War, you need to read Shelbyโs three volume narrative. He tells the โstory of the Civil Warโ and youโll enjoy his literary style. Lots of historical content, but unlike an historianโs style of writing, Shelby describes the warโs events thru the eyes of an historical novelist. Enjoy, I sure did!
