Whole lot of issues with this remake, but the single biggest issue that I have is the addition and importance of "chi". Mulan was a character women, and people who struggle with being who they truly are, could relate to as she took ownership of herself and found her inner power. An ordinary girl who worked hard to accomplish seemingly impossible things. This movie replaces that inner power with "chi", something only a few people in the world possess in great amounts which gives such people super abilities. Mulan in this movie is unrelatable, and that she hardly has any character development ensures that even more so. Disney should be ashamed, this movie missed any mark other than being cinematically beautiful. All fluff, no substance whatsoever.
