Some films are presented in such a way that you can put your brain into neutral and just be carried away by the action. This film treats you with more respect. It assumes you have a mind of your own and it invites you to interpret the events as they unfold. You are allowed to see more depth in the story the more you think as you watch. You dont needto be some high brow thinker, this isnt rocket science, the films meanings are presented for all to see. The film is shot with perfection and detail in every shot which makes it a delight on the eye. Dev Patel as the protagonist is beyond brilliant, perfect acting skills draw you into the story and have you on the travels with him. The movie is perfectly cast and it should have featured in the Oscars, this is pure acting at its best. Every detail of the movie is perfect there are no rough edges, I guess if you write the screenplay and direct as well, you make sure it is the best it can be, and this movie is. After i watched the movie i was glad I'd chosen it, over the next few hours as I disected the story and scenes in my mind I was actually moved by the messages in the story. Arthur and the knights of old are stories with meanings that we are all supposed to learn and live by. This movie tells the story of the Green Knight as it was meant to be told, so that we learn to live better from understanding its meaning. His goal is the destination he must get to, but the journey is what is important, it is the journey where we learn what life is all about. The trials along the way were created perfectly, I was only a little confused about the fox (watch it and you'll see) I loved this movie and when I watch it again I hope to learn more. Be patient, this isnt an action movie, but it should not be missed. Pure brilliance.

As a small piece of a much larger collection of films I failed to see the crescendo of an ending. Its characters having been through hell a number of times, suddenly fell apart due to the loss of other characters in the previous movie. Yes it made for some funny scenes and some send ups, but ultimately the film lacked any kind of hook. I failed to empathise with such a large cast and that left me a little lost on the side lines. I wanted to feel involved but ended up just waiti g to see what the inevitable outcome would take the form of. Big surprise some characters were killed off (but the it is the last in the franchise, h expect they all bid to be the one who's character died) All in all the film was ok. I actually preferred Guardians of the Galaxy in their first outing. Lot of hype over this movie, it was never going to live up to it. Thesheep like it (apparently)

Entertaining escapism it isnt. A story built around flimsy hypotheses of time direction, that tries to fill the holes as it goes along. The flow of the film is rough and seems to follow no direction, meaning each scene feels unrelated. Dont fall into the gigh brow group who nod and smile knowingly when in reality its a not a clever movie. It desperatly wants to be something special but its no 2001. I struggled to associate with the protagonist, as the movie concentrates on leaping through the story. There are action scenes but they seem shot technically, without any feeling, so whilst entertaining slightly they dont get you on the edge of your seat. In fact throughout the film i didnt really care who would win or why they were even fighting. Foggy story, wishy washy acring, average direction, lazy editing. Glad this movie is in the past.
