One of the finest sleazy, dripped in oil and blood neo noir films of 80's imo. Director William Friedkin returns to prominence in a "run at 80 mph" paced police crime melodrama. The entire main cast stands out especially Will Petersen, who seems to be pumped fill of adrenaline, cigarettes, coke and beer as US Secret Service agent Richard Chance. His partner, John Vulkovich is the polar opposite...at least most of film. He is well cast by Chi town stage actor John Pankow who is perfect as the straight laced of two and slowly made crazy by his adreneline junkie partner. Thrown for a loop with surprising twist ending, TLADILA is one 80's action roller coaster ride you won't forget. And how could I not mention the always fine performance by the (now) legendary Willem Dafoe as the central antagonist Erick Masters and modern crime floozies Debra Feuer as Master's GF Bianca Torres and Darlanne Fluegel as Ruth Lanier Chance's stool pigeon lady. Great soundtrack mostly by 80's techno/rock/pop supergroup Wang Chung, fantastic cinematography and you have a winning combo.
