It's not bad per say, I enjoyed all the horror elements and the gory scenes- not many shows seem comfortable with showing mutilated bodies. And the plot isn't so bad, I enjoy the change of characters, it's insightful sure. But it seems... overdramatic when it comes to black and white racism, not everyone during that time was that mean spirited right? there has to be one white person that didn't look down on African Americans with disdain- plus, I had always thought that America was racist, not other countries.
And let's not get started on the lack of Lovecraftian lore in the show, while there are some Lovecraft monsters there aren't enough- just a bunch of magic and witches that have nothing to do with the lore. To be honest, I see Lovecraftian monsters as otherworldly beings that are most definitely on the top of the food chain, magic? I doubt it can top what Lovecraft had created. So yeah, I'm a bit disappointed that these Over Powered creatures had been declassed to average monsters that can be held under the hand of humans; they were created to step on humans with little to no indifference, not as beatable villains.
