THE best american 'action' film in recent years. Good to see it more than made its money back at the cinema I want more of these types of movies, why do we not get more of these movies? You could make ten, yes TEN of these films for the price of the latest transformers film. Hopefully this will start the ball rolling again in hollywood when they realise great fun films do not have to cost crazy sums of money

stunning FX's and sound design, aswell as some great art direction Peter Weller and Benedict Cumberbatch are good bad guys, but, I still find the rest of the cast a little rubbish in their roles. actually nothing is worse than 1:03:48 into the film we are subjected to some gratuitous semi-nudity which just so out of place JJ Abrams should be ashamed of himself, its so degrading and unwelcome in this type of film

personally i feel the first three Bourne films are the holy trinity of the action / thriller genre. this, however lacks everything that made the first three so special where is the amazing sense of danger? nailing-biting tension? great camera work? excellent hand-to-hand combat? realistic [but over the top] chase scenes? a gripping story? and a truly career-defining lead role? well, its not here

its strange that this is STILL one of the best pure-action films ever made, and its over twenty years old. one of the main reasons i think that this is still a standout film is that all of the effects are practical [i think] rather than CGI which makes everything going on on-screen so much more life-like with the stunt men really working for their paychecks its never mention that much, but, for me, the warehouse scene is my fave; featuring a shotgun which behaves like a small grenade launcher! ‘The Raid’ is prohaps the only film i’ve seen in recent years to almost get to the highs of ‘Hard Boiled’
