My wife and I have greatly enjoyed all the previous 4 seasons of Shetland. The plots, acting and character development has been superb. The scenery and cinematic tone is sublime . So having said this, we fully anticipated the same with season 5. Went so far as to actually purchase it from Apple T.V. 😩 Not nearly as good. We were disappointed to say the least. When we really like a series, we’ll cut it some “slack” if the plot gets muddy or confused. But it happens way too often in this season to be ignored. Acting is good as usual, but loose writing and sloppy story line are just too much of a distraction. Poor logic and frustratingly poor police investigation!!! What happened to smart police work??? Sure hope season 6 is an improvement!
