having lived through that time..the movie fails to capture the essence of the reaction of the press and how the trial was presented..it was not a TV trial..
what was NOT explored and should have been was the police riot..the beat everyone in their path..onlookers...press people men women and children..not a word about that..Im sure CPD was sued by many of the injured..
and not any exploration on the power structure of the corrupt chicago "machine" mayor Daily and other city employees ..Daily should have been arrested..the film did try to accuse the police for planning the riot and blaming the C7
and to me the most important aspect of the kangaroo court was Judge Hoffman and his racist inhuman treatment of Bobby Seal..and the police murder of Fred Hampton..if that happened today that city would be burnt down
most of the defendants survived very well..Tom Hayden who was portrayed as a good guy in the film became a corrupt CA politician..seems he learned a few things from the Chicago machine..
