I was really looking forward to this show. The premise sounded great. The first episode was promising enough and so I stayed for episode 2. However, by episode 3 I completely lost interest in the whatever was going on. The story conflates family drama (Jo vs Kelly) and mystery drama (the dead man) with social commentary. The result is loss of tension. What are viewers suppose to invest their interest in, the mystery or the annoying family characters? This is where the thrill aspect got lost. I agree this government are self serving incompetents who do not care about flood risk; however, the way characters soapbox the eco message that underpins the story felt like the writers passive aggressive personal swipe at a government that basically hates the people. All in all life is too short to watch After the Flood to episode 6. It feels like a soap opera. I have no idea how it ends and I don't care!

I'm squirmish. I watched the TV show behind my fingers over 2 days. I wasn't expecting too much from The Challenge tbh. I turned it on for some background noise whilst I was working on a presentation. MISTAKE! BIG MISTAKE! Within minute's I was sucked deep into the show and felt real terror in episode 1. By episode 5 my heart had relocated to my throat and my stomach was in knots. The contestants have been well chosen. There are some REALLY REALLY AWFUL contestants. Prepare to witness some of society's rudest ignorant, self absorbed, obnoxious, 2 faced, arrogant completely horrible critters along side some super smart, likeable, brave and interesting people. Squid Game: The Challenge is a social study of tribalism, sexism, misogyny, ageism, social anxiety, racial bias and neurodivergence. I'm a psychologist. I love it! I'm at the edge of my seat. The BEST game show I have ever seen.

I'm a fan of Sandra Oh and I loved the idea of her playing againat type and I think Awkwafina is great so I was excited when Quiz Lady hit thw screen. I wanted to like this film so much but it sucks! The plot is soooo implausible and I just didn't care that what must be the worlds oldest pug gets dognapped.Sandra Oh's caricature of a 90s sitcom airhead is embarassing and she doesn't pass for 39! Holland Taylor as the next door neighbour felt like some kind of tokenistic pastiche of a bothersome old White lady. I tried watching the film twice but couldn't get past 40mins. It was just that awful.

I loved it! It was great to see a representation of a Muslim family and what happens when culture, family, religion and Love cross continents that are in reality just next door (literally). The film is informative with a light comedic touch. I love all the characters and the acting was fantastic. I really appreciated the Asian family were centred in the story with the White characters providing a supportive social point of reference.

Anna Kendrick's performance left me breathless. It is impossible not to feel a rollercoaster of empathy and emotion for Alice as the victim of coercive abuse. Kendrick conveys the mental anguish of a woman whose mind has been weaponsied against her . This movie is deeply uncomfortable to watch which is what makes it so brilliant. I felt the helplessness, frustration and anger of her friends. Kaniehtiio Horn brilliantly captures the intensity of a best friend wanting to do harm to the abuser but caught between loyalty to her friend. Wunmi Mosaku as the diplomatic Sophie was outstanding when the moment to make a stand presented itself. Credit to Charlie Carrick for making my skin crawl with disgust and rage! His understated performance of a controlling, narcissistic , sociopath who insidiously dismantles Alice's psychological defences and personality is compelling to watch. He gives a deft performance at how cancerous abuse can be without leaving any marks. The entire cast and direction were amazing. The bond between the cast members is tangible. The fun friendship moments felt so uplifting. You felt the history of these women as much as you felt the concern and sadness. The energy was authentic. I loved the backdrop of a local missing girl reflecting on some level Alice's search to find herself. Alice, Darling is a sensitive and intelligent movie that challenges viewers to open their eyes and look deeper at what constitutes domestic abuse. Violence is more than black eyes and broken ribs. The movie starts a conversation that also sends a powerful message to victims of domestic abuse that those who love and care about you want to be there for you too. If you are a human being who feels empathy for others, then this movie will stay in your mind and not disappoint you. I loved it.

Mike Myers clever commentary on the lamentable power of the dark side of the Internet is fantastic. Skillfully using conspiracy theories to make a serious point about how insidious and easily the internet has trained humans into surrendering kindness, objectivity and critical thinking. Mike Myers execution of a catalogue of diverse characters is brilliant. I spent a lot of time saying "OMG that's him too!". The prosthetics alone are worth watching it for. The supporting cast are stellar and you get the feeling a fun time was had be all in the making of the series. Jeremy Irons intros are a novelty touch at the beginning of each episode too. Pentaverate is an easy to digest fun cautionary tale that asks viewers to authenticate their thoughts with evidence before swallowing a poisoned red pill of nonsense that divides and hurts us all. Sidenote: It's interesting and ironic that a lot of the people who didn't like Penteverate in the reviews clutched their white pearls because in their opinion it was"Woke". Mission accomplished Mr Myers. #MicDropMoment

A beautiful piece of cinema. I was immersed immediately into the simply story of espionage and old lovers. The lighting and cinematography gave a rich expansive feel to the contrasting snow and sunshine location. Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton sparkle as former colleagues and lovers unravelling a story of betrayal through flashbacks. I loved everything about this film and will watch it again for sure.
