Upon first loading up the game for the first time, and almost every time since, Forza Horizon 5 has come across to me as somehow inferior the Forza Horizon 4. The initial loading sequence consists of an image which looks cheaply done compared to the previous game's, and a relatively boring cinematic, which lacked a song which could have been a distinct title theme like there was in FH4. The gameplay has impressive graphics but there arent any major differences between the last game, and all of the stages in the quests are lacking in difference with the same structure used throughout, and the "seasons" in the game don't really offer much change between eachother. Despite the map being large, it doesn't have businesses, or as many homes as Forza Horizon 4, and compared to the previous game, the map is much more sparcely populated with races and other features. Additionally, there are much fewer old cars, with the focus mainly being on ones made within the last 30 years. This decline in old cars is evident by the fact that Forza Horizon 5 has 17 1950s cars, and FH4 has 28 (Not including ones that required additional purchases), almost half as many as FH4.
Despite the many points that make this game inferior to the last (including a lack of updates), the redeeming factor is the sheer size of the map, combined with the impressive graphics, but besides that, there is not much else.
Overall, it seems that much less time and effort has been spent on making this game better than the last, and if the next addition to the Forza Horizon series gets similar feedback like this, I most definitely won't be staying with the Forza racing games.
