The lack of representation for women and people of color is honestly revolting. They had multiple opportunities to include diverse characters, and this was from 2011 so it’s not like this bs is good for its time. Many animation errors and scenes that wouldn’t make sense. Hadoque was the most unreliable and unrealistic character and Tintin had no depth. Despite this being a children’s movie and being meant to be very animated, the logistics were not possible and chances of survival: 0%. Inclusion of alcohol abuse was also a major reduction of quality. They landed in the middle of the Sahara after flying through a storm in the ocean???? Hadoque would have sweated out all the alcohol so it wouldn’t have taken him a day to get sober and the dog would’ve gotten sick from drinking it. When they were in the plane, the bottle of alcohol wasn’t diluted since it was medical… etc etc. It doesn’t make any sense. Then, in the Middle East, how tf did British colonizers find them and not actual Middle Easterners? The opera singer in that dress would have gotten shot at and insulting the people and getting away with it wasn’t a thing, it was insulting to see how little research was done about my culture. This was just a terrible movie.
