I have been on a quest to read as many classic English novels as possible. I just finished "Middlemarch" which going into it I had no idea what it would be about. I was overwhelmed by this book. It was so eloquently written and moving. I found myself unable to put it down. I also liked that it talks about the social and political issues of the time from the point of view of these provincial characters. I found that very interesting! I would rank this book right up there with my other favorites like "Frankenstein" and all of Jane Austen's novels.
