The whole family was excited to see this movie. What a disappointment. This is a uber prime example of how the book was far superior to the movie. What one would gladly use the now antiquicated term; Released straight to DVD. The pace started off well enough but soon ground down to that of a snail's sprint and we could hear others yawning sitting around us. Though Mads Mikkelsen is an incredible actor, his incredible talent seemed to be unable to shine through in this role. A few other characters seemed to have trouble finding their character's identity as well. I bet Warner Brothers will be kicking themselves for a long time for deciding not to have Johnny Depp return for what should have been another iconic role. Instead Gillert Grindelwald will return to be a character footnote from the first Harry Potter film. I can only recommend watching this film when it's released for free streaming in the future on sites like Hulu etc.
