Excellent casting once again. The period piece is exquisite in costume, setting and story line. Of course most of us are fans of the 6 season star studded PBS series that ended 4 years ago but has had 1 additional episode and 2 movies to follow. This was excellent. You feel as if you enter another period of history to understand our grandparents or great grandparents in the early 1940’s whether peasant or wealthy. If you love historical fiction, this an excellent choice to walk back in time. Authentic everything and beautiful story of the Crowley family over 30 years. I highly recommend it for the romantic. Not recommend for kids under age 12. No language, clean, no violence in this movie but the entire 6 season series as a whole has a small amount of hinted violence. Just loved it. Maggie Smith’s delivery of a humorous line is still brilliant, funny and the twist at the ending was interesting. Only Maggie Smith could have played the role of Violet.
