What started as a slice-of-life village family story has spun off to a complete mess and tasteless. A major slip in tone and focus, with cheap, boring storylines these days lacking more nuanced, intentional plot lines. To make things worse , Kannan’s characterizations as underdeveloped, petty, stupid, and childish makes it hard for audiences to root for any of them. Meena’s characteristics which is sometimes sensible and educated has been depicted unfairly a far cry from what fans were expecting, causing a slip in tone and focus. It does feel like the show lack cohesion, the story tries too hard to make a point, neglecting to develop a plot, characters, or good acting along the way. Jeeva, a doting an obedient brother, completely ignoring his spouse. Lack of Empathy and fails to connect with his wife on an intellectual, emotional and intuitive level. Understanding is key in every relationship, especially marriage. When two people in a marriage understand each other, they become aware of the commonalities that exist between them and also recognize and appreciate the differences. If you are empathetic with your spouse, you communicate with feeling and with respect for your spouse’s wants, attitudes and values. Your partner feels understood and validated when they talk with you. It’s rather disappointing to witness a husband who lacks this traits , contradicting Moorthy who adores his wife and portrays all of the above traits in a husband. Why the double standard. In short, Kathir is the only interesting character in the show. It’s sad that Pandian stores is losing its grip and struggling to stay.
