Very thought provoking. Issues like schizophrenia and gang rape, opting out of marriage etc are addressed directly and indirectly. Shows how loving and responsible is character of Shabana azmi towards her step sister meethi( played by konkana sen). How she remains great support to her aged mother played by Waheeda Rahman and step sister. The issue of a schizophrenic patients and how they need family support is depicted. How diseases and mishaps my make some people leave your side like the character of Rahul Bose who leaves Meethi when she develops sickness and becomes a victim to rape. Also somewhere the movie reflects or depicts politics, associated criminal gangs, state of the journalists or reporters we in our society. The picturization is very realistic and relatable. Beautiful.
