Jallikattu is a movie about an idea or situation told from the angle of a mob. The idea is humans coming out of the disguise of their polished looks showing their deep-rooted instincts similar to our ancestors in the stone age. It does not have conventional plot or characters standing out with their individual performances.
The film is the allegorical frantic chase of a crowd to capture a buffalo on the loose creating havoc in the local community. It unleashes in naked our primordial instincts that we ourselves clothe in restraints in our daily lives. By the time the herd captures the wild animal, they shed their trappings of civilization and form a pyramid of savagery.
