It was a really good film. Spoiler alert: I had to "let go" if you will, of the fact that I didn't enjoy the dishonestly of Ray/Gary or Madison, nor the predicaments applied to their characters, following the choice that Madison made, but overall, It wasn't like it wasn't just a movie and the scenarios made the film. I can't say, at least Madison thought this or that, or was right about stuff, but we can't say the badder goods, didn't prevail against the worser evils. Lotta 5 and 1 stars. I'm with the 4 star folks.

Film was good enough to keep me interested throughout. It had its good parts, but quite a few things make no sense, or at least appear not to, which isn't much better and than the ending was bad. I'll watch the next movie in the franchise, if they make it, but I'd never watch this again. Seeing that the 2nd most people gave it 1 star, makes my giving it 3 stars , seems plenty reasonable.

I liked but in honestly 3 stars seems about right. Norton is a great actor but this is a mystery where you stand no chance of understanding, which unravels not too clearly at the end. It has a particular vagueness that can't allow it to be anything great, but I found it to be a good time passer. Too many holes in this mystery that are attempted to be filled in an unfullfilling way..

I had lots of anticipation for this one! Who wouldn't! I mean the trailer was convincing and Ethan Hawke is in it, but honestly there were too many stupid moments and things that made no sense to where I can only say how over rated the film is based on the high ratings. If you're looking for a worthy time passer, than by all means, watch it, but the level of stupidity with non sense combined was aggravating. Believe me, if a lesser known actor played Hawke's role, this movie's rating would be chopped in half. You shouldn't NEED a high profile actor for a film like this and it's basically what they needed.

If I saw this audience rating before I watched it, I'd have never watched it! Just have to say it was a pretty good movie and goes to show me how inaccurate the ratings can be "sometimes". At worst a 3 and best a 4 for sure. When I think about how great a 5 actually is, I think about how enjoyable a 3 often is. I'll give it 3.5

Wow! Dialogue and acting were excellent! This is a faith increasing movie as well. Even the ending was good, which is so rare! Not a dull second in this film. The kind of movie that you go and tell everyone about.

It's a good movie that I saw in theatres back when I was 16. Good enough where I just came back to it a 4th time in 22 years now! Honestly, I can only give it 3 stars at age 37. Makes for a good time passer! I'd of gave it 4 stars w/o already seeing it a few times, but time and change of perception makes me a tougher judge today! I recently watched Insomnia again, with Al Pacino and Robin Williams, and enjoyed that more. It came out the same year and I gave it 4/5 stars. I recommend both and saving Insomnia for last.

Ignore all these 1 star ratings! This movie is a blast! I concur with everyone who says it might not be as good as the first one, but it's still really good. However this is my 2nd time around watching it and even though I loved it the first time, it's even better now. It could be a result of not seeing the first one even longer ago now, that could allow such a reality. I also think it might have to do with it growing on me. For example, now that 10 years has passed, my eyes adjusted to their 20 year age difference and it feels more like the original. There were only a few stupid moments, as it wouldn't be appropriate to say they were dumb and didn't like them.
