this book has left such a huge impact on me, it is so british yet so beautifully written, i’ve not yet found a book up to par, the line between humour and sadness is absolutely perfect, it gives you a laugh at some points and a good cry at others. the letter will wrote to lou at the end absolutely broke my heart, it’s a powerful thing for a writer to be able to have a reader so emotionally involved in a book. i really recommend this book, tissues needed

i thought it was a good book however the slow burn to get to the good stuff was a very long wait for me. a bit too slow with developments, i didn’t find myself being scared to put my leg over the edge of the bed or having to sleep with the lights off, i’d call this more of a dramatic read than a horror. overall tho 3/5, don’t like the way he sexualised the children when they were at such a young age
