Just watched this for the first time because of all the bad reviews so I wanted to see for myself. I think the hate this movie got was because of advertising. It's not part of the 90s Mummy movie, although they do have Easter eggs for it, and it's not just a retailing of the original. Its not a perfect movie but there's hardly any perfect movie. I enjoyed it. I liked the action scenes and the CGI wasn't bad especially compared to today's movies. I also don't think they should have advertised it as a horror movie because it's not that either. I really wish this movie would have done better at the box office because I would love to see this franchise take off. It doesn't deserve the negative reviews. I don't know what people want in movies anymore cause this is a good movie.
