John, Jane, Ashley and Kate all think this is a racist show with no point.*eye roll* This was directed by a black man with black actors to show the plight of Black Americans. I'm sorry that's uncomfortable for you to watch Jack, but aren't you the same person who wants to keep confederate statues because, "we shouldn't forget our past"? The show was gruesome, it at times left a pit in my stomach, it got me to research black history in Compton, it gets you to think. Yes, some of the storyline could have used some work and not everything was perfectly connected. However, it was a shockingly disturbing, worth the watch series. Think hard about what the demons represent, think beyond what you see on the screen and about what it symbolizes and you might learn a thing or two and develop a bit more empathy for a group of people who dealt with and still experiences these exact things.

Writing could be improved, but the story itself is fascinating. Yes, there's nudity, yes there are sex scenes (straight and gay), yes there is violence and rape. If you know anything about cults, that is absolutely what happens in them. If you don't like it, don't watch it, you're clearly warned before each episode what it entails. Tyler Perry needs help with some of the writing, especially the scenes with couples arguing, not realistic at all. Everything else is great!
