Douglas Wilke – Google

So someone took Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy" and wrote a novel about it.Then Lynne Ramsey made a film from that book. No wonder Ezra Miller is so good in this film.He's pretty psychotic to begin with. But,enough with that.This is a decent film .Tilda Swinton does a great job of playing despicable characters, and this is no exception.I'm guessing she went right into "Snowpiercer" after she did this project. It has it's flaws; it's very difficult to follow sometimes. And then when you consider that 2 relatively un-hot stars like Swinton and Reilly produce a kid...well,is Kevin that much of a surprise?

I have been waiting for the Americans to appear on Netflix, but I finally got the DVD box set from my library. I had watched bits and pieces of it a few years back and it always intrigued me. If I was to name my Mount Rushmore of crime dramas,it would be Sopranos,Wiseguy,Breaking Bad and this show....it is that great. The cast is arguably the best ever assembled.They incorporate realism and intensity during a time period of which I was a college student,at a university that had a top notch criminal justice program and had CIA spooks around it frequently. The topics laid out in this show were things that came up in our college party conversations often. Sometimes it's a slow burn, much like Better Call Saul, but it portrays allegiance and patriotism like no other show...ever.

A decent horror flick; not an all -time classic though. The director also did "The Bad Batch", and in my opinion this is a much better film.The biggest pluses to this movie are: A)The setting\ landscape.This was filmed in Taft,CA but magically portrays a dying Iranian town perfectly. B) Cinematography: Amapour transcends this film into a black and white horror film, hearkening back to the days of Dracula and The Werewolf films.But she also incorporates a lot of Lynch-esque Tour de Forces as well. C) Shelia Vand- plays the vampire chick and does a superb job, without going over the top.

For anyone that questions whether the media is it's own worst enemy and is like a lion that devours it's young, watch this movie! Renner is so effing authentic in his portrayal of Gary Webb and the timely progression of the storyline will keep any interested viewer engaged. "All the President's Men " is second rate to this film,as this cast is simply top-notch.I heard Gary Webb once on a radio talk show , within 2 years of his death.I never, for once, thought he was a bullshitter.Jeremy Renner did him justice in this movie.

For years, ABC produced the best mini-series.Amerika was very prophetic and is worth revisiting 30 years later. Their presentation of "The Stand" is unmatched; I don't even know why CBS is trying to recreate it. The cast in this production is an awesome mix of legends and newcomers. For great performances, let's start with: Jamie Sheridan as Randall Flag...the epitome of evil.Even today, his performance holds up. Laura San Giacomo as Nadine Cross...I loved her in "Sex, Lies & Videotape".She's even better in this. Gary Sinise, Ray Walston and Molly Ringwald all put in amazing performances, as does the incomparable Ruby Dee.
