I wanted to watch this as I have just finished watching main Walking Dead series and thought I should watch this before starting the Maggie Megan spin off Dead City. I was told that seasons 1-3 are the best of the series and that 4 onwards is a significant step down in regards to both the writing and the characters. So far I am seriously struggling through season 2 and will probably just give up on this show, the characters in large are unlikeable and lack any reasonable motivation for the things they do and the way they act, and the story/writing so far has been boring, slow and just generally poor. SPOILERS IN THIS PART: This show promised to be a look at the fall of the world that we missed in The Walking Dead, and somehow the great fall was a great waste of time. A lot of the action that we could have seen from the initial fall just managed so slip by as the characters hid in their homes, and sailed away to live on the open ocean for weeks avoiding much of the chaos we wanted to see. Despite some of the characters being quite relatable, namely Nick and Alicia, the cohort as a whole is hard to watch due to the dysfunctional family storyline causing entirely unnecessary issues.
