Venom 2 didn't live up to the expectation. The way the movie was hyped up seemed like the villian Carnage must be like a god and much stronger than Venom but in fact he felt very weak and Venom could easily beat him. The were barely 2-3 action scenes and in most of the scenes there was a little cringy comedy. Venoms fight with Riot was much better in the previous movie was much better. I can understand that the pandemic was going on when they shot the movie but there should at least be some scenes which makes the audience attracted to the movie more. There were no such scenes and it felt a little bland. I am a huge fan of Marvel but this time they didn't give there best. Like in the starting 45 minutes of the movie, there was no action just Venom and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) having a fight and then Venom left him. Meanwhile the villian is trying to escape the prision where he was given a death sentence. That was 1 action scene.
Then Venom goes to a party in another hosts body, I still cant understand that how in an action movie the main hero go to a party while the villian has escaped prision.
Anyway Eddie gets to know that the serial killer (In which Carnage is in) has escaped prision so he gets Venom and then fights him. It was a preety bland story line also.
I got to admit that the end was a good equal fight between Carnage and Venom....but when Venom defeated Carnage he just ate him like he was nothing. Carnage was so hyped in the trailer and he just got eaten by Venom like nothing. Carnage looked very weak, how was he stronger than Venom. I understand Venoms bond with Eddie is good but Eddie barely did anything in the fight, it was just Venom and Carnage. Even the serial killed hurted Eddie but Eddie just laid down and waited down. Anne's husband also contributed more than Eddie Brock.
There were also some mysteries that were not solved in the movie like Why does Carnage call Venom father? or How did they escape San Francisco when they were wanted and reach an coastal island somewhere in the Indian Ocean.
Anyhow the VFX were good and overall they gave there best they just slipped a little bit. I will give the movie a solid 2/5. The move according to me was under average and overrated. I liked the last Venom more. Some might like the movie some might not, but I am just sharing my experience. So please don't take it completely to your heart if you liked the movie.
