Haven’t seen a good movie like this in SO long. Actual storytelling. No indoctrination. Credible information. Heartfelt acting. So good.
Can I just say… this movie was brutally realistic. We had such high hopes for Inez. We were led to believe that she would really open up her own shop and make it for herself and her son. But just like real life, our dreams get buried by our environment and it really does take encouragement (“I can’t wait” - Lucky), speeches we here on tv (cup of noodles scene), others achievements (T getting into tech), etc. to pull those dreams back up. And even then most people, ESPECIALLY during this era, don’t get there. I was sad to see them in the same apartment and Inez working the same job as the years passed, but I also loved the fact that Inez didn’t completely give up and stop working in all, like I’ve seen happen first hand.
