I adore The Profit and have watched every show. However, Ben's Garden was extremely difficult for me as I am a mother of a son who is gifted with high functioning autism. Just from the trailer, I could tell that Marcus had no idea what autism was about. I wish the show had allowed him to understand how Ben's brain worked prior to this show. After I finally watched the show, I felt led to contact the show because Marcus said to Ben that if he invested, Ben might not be involved in his own company due to his own trust issues with people. Marcus then went on to say that he recognizes what Ben calls and "labeled as a disability", and he wants the employees to be able to work around Ben. To me, this proves that Marcus has no idea what autism is, or how it affects those that suffer from it. I was so proud of Ben for the amazing business he created. I also loved that he was brave enough to go on national TV as so many people on the spectrum would have had too much anxiety to do that. Way to go Ben! Marcus, I know you do not book your own shows. Your beautiful executive producer is awesome, but THIS TIME she took it a bit too far. Please ask her to stay away from things she doesnt quite understand.
