The author could've done more better regarding the ending scene idk if it's only me but it seems kinda abrupt other than that the description she had provided are quite evident in proving that the protagonist was finally able to free herself from the weigh of marital life as she was seeing signs of rebirth around her which alternately were awakening glimmer of hopes in her to finally live her live with complete freedom given the Victorian notions of women's rule with regard to marriage and duties. While on the other hand her husband coming back alive was no less than an epic scene specially considering the situation she was trying to prepare herself for, damn it was like out of the fire into the frying pain again.
