Second review. Like so many series, it starts to fall apart as it ages. We're shown long dialogues between characters that have no relevance to the story, let alone Scripture. Ex--a lengthy exchange between the African Gentile follower and Mary Magdalene. The latter explains how Jesus discovered her "drunk in a bar". Where the hell did that come from? At least the didn't call her a prostitute.
In the same episode, we have the sick and lame being cured by Jesus one after another. The only thing missing was a turnstile.
Throw in the repentant saccaris and the evil Rabbi Akiva and you have the makings of a hyper soap opera.
