Graphics look nice and combat feels good and smooth.
However, I think they failed to recreate the dark/horror ambiance they were trying to reproduce from D2. First, the game is way too easy, even on veteran difficulty. I never died and I never even ran out of potions (hardest difficulty btw). I wish devs weren’t so affraid of killing the players.
Also, this quest/map system feels very outdated. It’s basically the same system we’ve been sold for over a decade now: talk to a npc, follow the marker on your map, kills mobs, then go back get your reward and repeat. I feel like this marker system removes all sense of wonder for the player and basically makes exploration not very encouraged nor rewarded.
HUD is also very outdated & not really immersive.
Story is ok but there are way to much dialogs. In the first 2- 3 hours of gameplay, if you don’t skip dialogs, you’ll spend more time listening to npcs than killing monsters.
This isn’t really a bad game, but given that it is sold at full price, plus the game isn’t micro-transaction free AND they’ll be selling us a battlepass, plus the game brings nothing new to the genre … I do not recommend.
