It has become a new sport to jump on the bandwagon of folks panning this movie. That is sad because it should be seen by a large segment of the population, particularly folks who enjoy live musical theatre. It had excellent choreography, an outstanding cast, enjoyable music and stunning visuals. Having read many of the reviews, I concluded many of the reviewers were clueless regarding the nature of this production. For anyone who saw a Broadway production, they would recognize a faithfully produced version. It is usually necessary to be able to suspend disbelief to enjoy many Musicals. It is difficult for a film to have the electricity of live theater but this movie came close on a few of the production numbers. My vote...try it, you may like it.

This dramatized history piece provides insight into birth of electric power industry and rivalry of competitors. Good performances by cast. While not much that is "flashy", a solid enjoyable film.
