Timeless, never fail to be exciting every time you see it.

"Don't try to understand it. Feel it" Well if that's what you want me to do then I must say this is bad. Yes I know, million dollar gimmick, it's freaking delicious, but let's talk about the story. After the high potential prologue we are greeted with the same old hollywood hero and his adventure that we have grown to hate, sure the untold story had its appeals, but I just really really hate overused storytelling paradigm by now. Pacing is rushed too. Oh and the loud music, again. It grows old dammit

After all that's said and done, I felt poisoned myself. Ending felt like some crappy last songs on a super hyped LP.

To what length must we suffer for us to finally reconciliate? This is an interesting tale of cleansing, purification. Two shortcoming: 1. the film is not surreal enough. 2. after literally all other stuff in the film, that final shine in the eye just looks like production ran out of budget or time or something.

Never thought the cheap reset button gag can actually produce depth, and in this age of ever more realistic settings, this ends up to be some sort of a breath of fresh air. Yes it is goofy, but there's some real unforgettable episodes waiting for you somewhere over there, baby.

Can you imagine the moment a villain reckoned his victim to be human and decided not to kill them? The execution is kinda crude and you might not catch it the first time through, but it is a powerful moment nonetheless, and you might find yourself sifting through that lost soul of M. Verdoux to come again and contemplate on that moment, against the backdrop of some other powerful strokes of this multifacet gem.

A very jazz movie with a very jazz ending, it leaves you shaken without using any loud bass, even gives you little souvenirs to take home with, as all good movies should do. Maybe that's what happens when all the budgets go to the right places. My only complaint is that I do think the movie torture us a little bit too much.

This is what an adaptation should be, seriously, I can never understand why ppl are so obsessed about "faithfulness". You make a movie faithful to its original book, it is guaranteed to be judged against each other and 9 out of 10 times the book wins. It's a lost battle, it rarely ever worked so why are you still going for it? Now this one, they changed the story to fit the medium and time frame and it is marvelous, it is different enough to make me want to judge the film on its own. THIS IS A GOOD ADAPTATION
