I absolutely despised this film with all my heart. It wasn't the animation or the plot that pissed me off. It was that "love" story between Pocahontas and that random white guy.
In the first movie, the chemistry between Pocahontas and John Smith was amazing. Smith didn't try to change her or did he judge her at first sight. He listened to her, went against his team, and even put his life on the line TWICE. If you really looked at his movements throughout the movie, you can literally tell that he's in love. It was awesome and I was upset that they went their separate ways but I was excited that there was a second movie....disappointing. I heard that in the original story, Pocahontas did marry that random guy but that was because Smith had truly died. He is NOT dead in this film. If they wanted to go by the original, they could've made him dead but they didn't. So the writers or whoever is behind the storytelling decided to change John Smith's personality and make Pocahontas fall in love with some dude who tried to change her and judged her in the beginning? Okay cool. Even after they said that they will always be there for each other.
