Discussing Obesity in children ... not one person out of all these who are giving input are offering the absolute best advice that digestion starts in the mouth. Almost entire generations 'bolt' their food, leaving their stomachs to do ALL the work rather than getting educated to the fact that mastication is the first and foremost action to take in the 'silver bullet' toward overcoming weight gain. Blame does need to be apportioned to all in general who are not making the right decisions as to their daily food decisions and how they eat. If peers set the exact and right example to those growing up in their wake then better education would shine through .... eat when hungry, not just for taste and comfort - eat slowly and savour what is in the mouth, turn it into chime before it sets on its journey to the back of the throat and down down down to the stomach. As a child, if your parent does not lead the way with great biology, offering absolute understanding of how the systems of your body work - then it is quite natural there will be mass ignorance and dis-ease will set in.
