I listened to John Coltrane all night after watching this movie! Tessa Thompson’s acting was so emotive; a true Method actor. There were so many times when I rewound scenes just to take in all the little nuances of her portrayal of her character; she really inhabited Sylvie as a character. I’ve seen Tessa in so many other roles, I almost felt betrayed by how well she played Sylvie. This was a really beautiful coming of age love story. For Sylvie, Robert and her were tethered souls; an extraordinary love that not everyone gets to experience in their lifetime.
