What I love about FH books was that he introduced a future where instead on technologies( which were, especially any sort of AI, banned ), humanity had to shift its focus on humans mental and physical skills development. Despite really good visual experience of this movie, the Dune story line was reduced to ,,slightly higher standard,, StarWars. Fremens were reduced from self-sufficient rational tribe to bunch of fundamentalists. Mentats disappeared completely. Spacing Guild was hardly mentioned. People who did not read book must be confused, people who did read a book must be disappointed. A goal of the movie was clearly commercial. Instead of introducing intriguing world of the future where values and priorities are different from our presence, the focus was shifted on battle scenes and violence.
