I am not all the way through Spare yet but it's really well written and on Audiobook (which I recommend for the emotion and tone of the novel overall) it lends a nostalgic nod.
Thank you for being so bold as to write this, it made me think of my childhood and ponder on some long and forgotten bits with cherished elders. Five stars!
