It is a brilliant series. It's so well crafted, and the acting is top-notch. As a father of two young teenagers, it hit hard. It shows the struggles of parents and kids as they navigate a society that is fast becoming disconnected. It's incredibly authentic and yes schools and pupils are really like that.
The young boy Jamie is incredible as are the actors that play his family.
It feels like a cross between a film and a play. It is an incredibly technical film, as each episode is an hour-long one-take. However, it doesn't feel like it.
Everything is not tied up in a neat bow, and there are a lot of unanswered questions, but that's life. I feel we were privileged to get a glimpse into a family's life through the most heartbreaking time, and that reality is harsh.
Its not a normal way to produce such a story but it really worked. I think this could be the start of a new way of creating TV.
