I'm a Grisham fan and as usual this book was very entertaining. UNTIL, well until he committed a gross error in the story line that was impossible for me to overlook. Just ruined the entire plot for me. The Sheriff, Fats, is sentenced to prison but before he can be incarcerated, commits suicide in Maine. But almost immediately thereafter he is referenced as 'freezing in Maine'. Sarcastic remark about a corpse? No. immediately after that he is serving his sentence in jail. How could that illogical development get past his second reading and proofreaders? Didn't any of his friends or the publisher pick up on this? The rest of the book suddenly meant nothing to me.
