This is indeed one of my most favored novels, especially for the genre as well as I would say something of the pioneer that got me into reading more, I love the aesthetic and story unveiled in The Fall of Reach, more so the events leading into The Fall of Reach, it is indeed one of best prequels I have read, the Master Chief's origin is quite brutal and well written, the fundamental questions that are piqued through John---in particularly in regards to whether lives are spent or wasted on the battlefield. In terms of character, I like John, of course, Doctor Halsey and Captain Keyes.
