What an amazing movie! As a mother, as a wife, as a daughter and as a lesbian this movie captivated me. What a touching memoir. It is heartbreaking that anyone should have to go thru this. Why do people keep thinking this is a choice? Why would so many of us choose this life? The hardships. The heartache. This poor young man suffered and felt that ending his life would be the easier and most peaceful thing to do. Shame on the people who made him feel this way. As I'm sure parents don't condone "bullying". Yet the examples many show their children are essentially "bullying". Hatred, racism, segregation, judging, mocking ... all needs to stop. Be the change, it starts with YOU.
