I had genuinely forgotten I had watched the original movie of One Day (2011) a few years ago featuring Anne Hathaway & Jim Sturgess and that's because though yet so similar this Revamped TV adaptation of One Day adds so much more to the original story (personally in my opinion).
The chemistry between Mod and Woodall (i.e. Emma & Dex) was truly intriguing to watch not only it being a women of Colour (South Asian) descent was refreshing. As well having someone who is unconventionally attractive play the part of Emma Morley that didn't exactly meet the typical conventional beauty standards, that we usually seem to see in these type of storylines.
Back into comparison with the the original movie and revamped TV series is that with the similar lines and touches. I feel the TV series does a great job of making certain film choices in which spacing out certain moments / lines in a way that allows us to take in every little small touches and detail. Which allows us to really feel and witness the emotions and feelings of each person and interaction.
One thing that I would've wished for in the series was a little more time for us to experience what their life was like when they finally got together. and seen them maybe actually have a baby have more of a life together.
But otherwise it was great series that had me experience so many different emotions of happiness, laughter , sadness the list goes on.
So with that I would suggest everyone watch this series.
