Found the book disconcerting at the start. So much going on with no way of grounding what I was reading. But found much intriguing so pushed on. I kept hold of the things that made sense and let the rest wash over me. Wished I had some knowledge of the historical aspects of the book, but in the end it didn’t matter. Such an incredible world he has created and way to examine devastating violence and dysfunction with creativity, humanity and insight. Extraordinary work. Loved it.
