The American remake of Ghosts is so poorly done it seemed to be a Saturday Night Live parody of the original British version, which was much more successful though still only mildly amusing.

Kingsolver’s insightful depiction of a community ravaged by generational effects of poverty, OxyContin/Fentanyl pushed by big Pharma is one of her best. Demon Copperhead, modern David Copperfield, is a gut wrenching character readers will never forget; providing empathy much needed in our current political culture where the millions of victims effected by the Billionaire Drug companies are blamed for their devastated lives.
