IT IS NOT PART 2 OF THE ORIGINAL SQUID GAME...
IT IS JUST KIND OF A PIRATED COPY OF THE ORIGINAL SQUID GAME!
In short, Netflix has significantly disappointed with its rendition of Squid Game. If you enjoyed the original's thrilling and refreshing concept, I strongly advise against watching this version. It's not only disappointing but also somewhat repulsive.
The show is truly awful. Netflix took a globally captivating story and tarnished its reputation by producing a low-quality version with the same name. While there was potential, especially with contestants having compelling stories similar to Sae-byeok's, the selected participants were unbearable and cringe-worthy. Some seemed like Hollywood wannabes seeking fame, others lacked clear reasons for participating, and one even admitted to dropping out of college just to join (predictably, he's eliminated early). They all came across as arrogant and entitled to the $4.6 million prize, completely missing the show's essence of earning it. I found myself cheering for eliminations in the few episodes I managed to endure. The participants' self-importance and the forced drama created by producers made the show so tedious that I quit early on and have no interest in similar content.
