Being a Filipino raised in Australia, I've Been waiting for a Filipino film that's not afraid to stray away from every stereotypical filipino movie that the filipino viewers demand, with the typical love team ridiculousness. This finally hit the spot with superb chemistry between the actors that make this film. Alessandra brings out the best of Piolo being effortless together it brings out his subtly and genuinity, unlike his usual and all other male filipino leads who take the Zoolander Blue Steel very seriously(dont get me started on Sam Milby). I mean why does every Filipino romcom have a business meeting scene with an over the top upper class, characterless boss that speaks in english like, "Let me remind you John Lloyd that you better not let this poor sassy girl get in the way of your potential promotion".. Anyway, even with all it's flaws, My Amanda is still a stand out amongst Filipino movies.
