This game is the definition of bad Match Making. if you are looking for a game to play with some of your friends and came across DotA 2, then I advise you to keep on looking. I have never in my life seen a game with worse Match Making, and I have played a few of those. For an example of how bad it is, let's say you are quite experienced in how the game works and you are roughly level 40-60 and usually you would match against people of your level, and you would like to play with some of your friends or siblings who are either just starting or are say level 20, the game would then put you against players or sometimes clans that range from level 40-120. This match would turn out to be a TOTAL stomp. Your teammates would barely be able to play properly and the enemy team would do things like Hero combos and counter picking, resulting in a 20min game. I would advise you STRONGLY to steer clear of this one, at least if you are looking to have fun if you enjoy pain and frustration with sometimes a successful fun game then you might enjoy it.
