Amazing! A faithful adaptation to the original anime! Kudos to all who made this possible beyond all trials and delays. Worth the wait that’ll give you chills and leave you in awe as it brings you back in time like it was first aired in the 70s! This is the hype everyone is talking about and it’s real!
I’ve heard and read the nays but GMA and company really stepped up the game from the get go, the very first in the history of Philippines cinema/television. No other network dared, came close or even attempted such pinnacle. Their hard labor to give the audience a memorable experience obviously came from much love to the audience and because they can.
90 total episodes versus 40 from the original so stories were added but it answered some questions I’ve had from the anime. For example, in the anime, Voltes team would speak their weapons out loud to fire but in the live adaptation, it was mentioned that some of their weapons were voice activated. Hence shouting out their weapons to fire while flying the machines makes sense. That simple and yet significant detail makes VVL a privileged opportunity to watch. These added stories were approved by the original authors along with their customs. It’s a collaboration between 2 countries who used to be at war with each other.
Let’s enjoy this epic adaptation and be thankful for what has been given to us for our pleasure in this time of history.
