Paul Hoffmann

One of the wildest rides i had in recent memory. The film combines different styles, plays like a dramatic bombastic theatre play at first before there are more naturalistic scenes in the second half. First the aesthetics seem to overwhelm the Story but towards the end there is a honest, optimistic beating heart, a real idealism to build a better future for New Generations and that love can turn an egomaniac into a real artist. Some wild but great Performances are in this Film and some scenes are unforgettable including an assasination that recalls the atmosphere of the godfather. Other sequences drag (intentionally?). The Story was very good to follow, plus there Tons of references to other Films. In the end you have a pretty good idea who Francis Ford coppola is at the moment. He left his personality in this Film. Really one of a kind.
