(not me saving up for the rights to Rise to hopefully continue the series somehow because an average human being can totally do that) 100% worth watching, season one is a bit slow but the movie hits hard. The people rating this show one star just don't know what they're talking about, just salty that the turtles don't look exactly the same and that the writers decided to mix things up, and they can't get over the fact that maaaybe (most definitely) another TMNT adaptation is better. I personally love the idea that Raph is the leader and the oldest and the show executes this perfectly, having him worry more about his brothers than himself. I'm really glad they got rid of his anger issues too and gave him a more well rounded personality. The fact that people hate him because he's the size of a refrigerator confuses me, it literally shows that he was always the protective one, always will be. Leo's masking I feel works with his character really well, and I love the fact that they all look completely different from each other, you can tell who's who when they don't have their masks on!! Giving characters multiple persaloty traits makes it much easier to relate with them. And it makes them seem more like real people! And Mikey sort of acting as the family therapist is great too, he's also extremely empathetic, and his emotions are determined by the mood of his family a lot which I love. Donnie not liking hugs or social interactions just makes the wholesome moments so much better. Donnie is (confirmed) autistic which means a lot to me given I am too! People are complaining about April being a black girl boss for whatever reason, it makes them seem extremely racist, especially when the April I know is eons better than what I've heard about the others. The bonds with the characters ebb and flow, and details from previous episodes aren't just flushed down the drain (pun intended to anyone who knows what I mean), they build off of each episode, they don't just factory reset and do something different. The level of depth I feel these characters have is crazy and I totally recommend you watch this show! Ignore what the people who claim the animation is cheap and whatnot, it's absolutely beautiful and closer to anime than 2012 ever could've been. I understand that you might have nostalgia for 2012, but don't immediately hate on every other adaptation because of that. The only reason I haven't watched 2012 is because everyone I know who likes that series either despises Rise or refuses to watch any other series. Also because the animation is such a downgrade from Rise, I'm sorry I can't. I probably would've enjoyed it when I was a kid but once you watch quality animation it's hard to go back to plastic figurines and stuff. I'm sure the animators worked hard to make it look okay but it's just not the style I like. Please, anyone who reads this, consider watching Rise. It's not nearly as bad as everyone tries to make it seem. 💙💛💜❤️
